The Nigerian Navy said Wednesday night that it has captured five Niger Delta culprits including the pioneer of an infamous activist gathering, one Uduak Etim Thomon of the Bakasi Strike Force.

Among violations said to be executed by the activists are assault on business sector ladies and different brokers, guiding of unrefined petroleum and annihilation of pipelines.

  An announcement marked by Commodore Christian Ezekobe, Director of Navy Public Relations said, "As a major aspect of endeavors to wipe out unwholesome exercises sustained by crooks in the Niger Delta, the Nigerian Navy has captured one of the top pioneers of a gathering which passes by the name Bakassi Strike Force (BSF).

 "The suspected Militant Mr Uduak Etim Thompson otherwise known as SANGATA was captured on 12 September 2016 at his safehouse in Calabar by a joint group from Nigerian Navy Ship VICTORY and Defense Intelligence Agency.

" It would be reviewed that some top individuals from the BSF had before been captured. "In a related advancement, the watch group conveyed by Naval Outpost (NOP) Ikuru captured 4 suspected infamous ocean thieves who were asserted to be in charge of a few assaults and burglary occurrences at Oyorokoro, Ataba, Kaa and Oyorokoro people group in Andoni Local government range of Rivers State.

 "The pack was claimed to have especially assaulted market ladies on 4 September 2016 at Oyorokoro Community. "These captures convey to fore the dedication of the Nigerian Navy and other security organizations to stamp out the threat of criminal brigandage in the locale. "Examination concerning these untoward exercises have started and the culprits will be given over to indicting organizations for further activity."
