(mirror) - A boy of 12 and three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man outside a McDonald's restaurant.

Two 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of the same offence on Saturday bringing the total number of arrests to four, reports the Manchester Evening News .
Police were called to Warrington Street in Ashton-under-Lyne following reports of an assault on Wednesday night.
Officers discovered a man in his 40s had suffered serious injuries to his head and abdomen.
He was taken to hospital, where he died in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Formal identification is yet to take place, police said today.

A murder investigation into the man’s death has been described by police as ‘fast moving.’
Detective Inspector Kevin O’Regan from GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “This has been quite a fast moving investigation and we have now made three further arrests bringing the total number of people we have in custody to four.
“Our investigation continues and I would urge anybody with information to please contact police, no matter how insignificant you think it may be.”
On Wednesday another area was cordoned off on Stamford Street near to Warrington Street where it’s understood an item of clothing linked to the crime was found.
