Why messi must barcelona

Time up Messi! Here are five reasons Barca star must move on No doubt, the existence of Lionel Messi has added glamour and colour to the beautiful game of football. The 28-year-old is arguably the best player ever to have graced the football pitch and this has earned him the Ballon d’Or award five unprecedented times, two more than his closest rival Cristiano Ronaldo. However, the Argentine is seen to be struggling in 2016, although he has shown glimpses of how ‘destructive’ he could be in front of goal, Messi has not been so ‘alienic’ as he used to be and football lovers around the world have continued to raise questions; should Messi leave Barcelona?
1. Gone past his peak period?: The 28-year-old has been exceptional for more than a decade now. He has been named among the best three players for the nine consecutive years, and winning it five times. Messi’s games has really dwindled and failed to live up to expectation at home in the reverse La liga fixture of the El Clasico as 10 man real Madrid away victory 2. Presence of Neymar and Suarez: Suarez has shown great potentials. Arguably, he is currently the best striker on the planet at the moment. His sensational strike against Arsenal in the Champions League round of 16 will not be forgotten so soon. 3. Messi needs fresh challenges: Messi has played his entire career game at Barcelona. He probably needs new challenges, since he has won ‘everything’ with Barcelona. 4. Ever-present Spanish tax problems: Messi and his father Jorge face are still under trial over an alleged £3.1million tax fraud relating to image rights deals. 5. Age: By June 24, 2016, the Argentina striker will be 29 years old. Age could really be telling on the current world best player.
