NFF set to ban Giwa and cohorts from Nigerian football

    – Chris Giwa could be banned from all football related activities – Giwa argued that he returned to court following a controversial decision by the NFF The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) extraordinary congress held today April 13, has resolved that Chris Giwa and his loyalists will face the disciplinary committee for taking football matters to court.
A top source in the NFF disclosed that Giwa and cohorts are likely to be slammed long-term bans. Chris Giwa argued that he returned to court after a controversial decision at the Annual General Assembly on December 16, 2015, but the congress immediately reversed the decision they took in December which excluded other stakeholders from vying for elective offices unless they have previously been on the NFF executive committee or congress or are currently occupying such positions. It would be recalled that the Giwa-led faction on Tuesday, April 13, dissolved all the state FA chairmen. In a press conference which held in Abuja on Tuesday, April 12, Chris Giwa stated that he appreciated the efforts of all Nigerians but will rather re-constitute the FA chairmen position across the nation. Meanwhile, Solomon Dalung, the minister for Sports and Youth Development has said the court ruling in Jos on Friday, April 8, that nullified the election of the Amaju Pinnick-led executive committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), will not be effected till after a mandatory 30 days.
